This is important to us because a thriving sports ecosystem needs support at all stages: from brilliant ideas and innovations right through to viable, growing businesses that employ many and are important players in a diversifying economy.
CASBI’s Sports Economy Propellor Programme is about taking early stage entrepreneurs who are already working in sport – or are close to launching – through a process that will strengthen their plans and build connections with other entrepreneurs and players in the sport sector.
This unique program explores exciting aspects such as fan engagement, the use of data in sport, sports retail, fitness and wellbeing and more.
From an SCF perspective, this is crucial early-stage work that needs to be done to build business pipelines in sport, connect value chains, and develop a new asset class for investors who currently view African sport SMEs as far too risky.
